WHAT ARE YOU SCARED OF???

A number of our bloggers have already touched on the topic of fear - particularly as it relates to cameras (see Off the Hoof and also Eye OF The Leopard) but the subject also came clearly into focus during the last workshop we had at AI HQ in Sydney.

The mighty DJ has put together a sterling teaser for next month's videos (a little squirrel mentioned that vids. filmed between 8/10 and 8/11 will focus on why the world is so angry - you can't tell me we don't give you tonnes of notice! But for the period 8/9 - 7/10th it's all about fear - in particular - what are your fears and what is everyone else so afraid of [partic. when we take out a camera and point it - even if only vaguely - in their direction]).

DAGger Training DAY (YouTube) - at North Ryde -This Thursday 7:30am

Dearest DAGger,

Please this read this email carefully and S-L-O-W-L-Y :)

You are invited to the most glorious of training days on Thursday 28 August - Yes, that is 2-888 (get it?). We are redesigning the 888dag.com site after receiving a gr8 deal of hellful [sic] feedback.

The simplification drive will see everyone manage their own YouTube Channel. If you already know about YouTube, please come along and help us train those who don't! Basically, the NEW process will be as follows:

1. You film
2. You deliver ALL your clips to us
3. You select the 8 clips you want to be included in 888DAG (the best of the bunch)
4. We caption and upload your clips to your YouTube Channel (you don't do this bit cos you don't have the bandwidth at home)
   
5. Once the clips are uploaded YOU get automatic notification and add the relevant info for your clip (see list below) to best advertise and link your content
   
6. You tell your story including your clips and your favourite clips on your blogs AND on your YouTube channel.

On Thursday we will cover:

• Starting a YouTube Channel
• Editing Video Information
• Subscribing to other channels
• Adding Friends and Networks
• Creating Playlists and Favourites
• Sharing your Videos
• Commenting and Rating
• Linking
• Adding Geotags (for time and date location information)
• Labels
  

We are commencing at 7:30am (!!!) on 28/08/08 and will go out for Yummy Lunch afterwards. :-)~

The address is FOXTEL, 5 Thomas Holt Drive, North Ryde (off Waterloo Rd).

How to put Music on your BLOG

Sorry for the late response to this request..... but here it is

1 - go to http://www.playlist.com/
2 - Register, under new account (dont register mob number - you get alot of spam)
3 - go into the top right hand corner (in the search bar) and search an artist or a song of your choice
4 - click on the + button on the left hand side (this will add your music into a playlist). If you want to add more please repeat steps 3 & 4
5 - Once you have picked out all the songs would you like in your playlist - go into the tab "my account" which is located on the top
6 - Then click on "add your playlist to myspace or facebook" - which is located under "manage my account"
7 - it will then give you 5 options (A, B, C, D, E ) - please pick E
8 - select the playlist you would like on your blog
9 - Select whether you would like an autostart (so the music starts automatically when people enter your blog), random/shuffle, and then select a colour. Click on 'get code' after you have done this.
10 - copy and past the code onto a word document


HOW TO PUT IT ON BLOG

1- Go into the layout page of your blog
2 - Click on add a gadget and drag it to a desired location
3 - Select the HTML/Java Script function
4 - Put title e.g "Hits"
5 - paste the code you have on the word document into the content box and then save
6 - go back to blog - you should now have a playlist!!!!

How to set up a Slideshow

First you have to create an Album

1. Open your Gmail account
2. Click Photos on the top left, Picasa Web Albums opens
   
3. Click New Album
4. Create your new Album
5. Click Create
6. Click Upload Photos
7. Click Browse and choose an image from your desktop or laptop
8. You can only upload 5 images at a time, once done click Start Upload - this might take a while
9. You can upload more images by repeating step 6. - 8.
10. Once done close down Picasa Web Albums
    

Now go into your Blog

1. Go into Layout
2. Click Add a Gadget
3. Click on Slideshow
4. Ensure you Source is Picasa Web Albums
5. Click Album at Option
   
6. Username is your Gmail address
7. Click Save
8. View Blog
   

Voila, there is your Slideshow :)





Ps. If you want your Slideshow in a post, like this one, you have to embed it into your post - just like you do for a youtube video.
